A Predictable Reaction

This is what makes sports fun.

The immediate contrast in my head is that of Ohio State University receiving over a half a million dollars for the naming rights to its annual game with Michigan with Ohio State University telling then sophomore running back Maurice Clarett (sp?) that he could not play on the team because he may have misrepresented an insurance claim after his vehicle was broken into. Clarett was banned from the NFL draft this past season after OSU abandoned him the previous fall. The kids must have the ethics. The kids can not be compensated. The school, however, can go right ahead and make a half million dollars for absolutely nothing.

I'm not a Maurice Clarett supporter. I'm not really a fan of college athletes, or even college sports. There is hardly a better example of "Do as I say, not as I do" than the NCAA and its participating Division I schools.
